![]() The Cargolifter CL 160 is a semi-rigid or keeled airship in which the envelope is not stretched over a rigid structure but has a keel which is attached to the bottom of the envelope and distributes the weight of the payload along the length of the envelope. In February 2002, the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) was completed, confirming the technical feasibility of the project, leading to the next stage in its development, the Detailed Design phase.Ĭargolifter AG won a contract to provide heavy lifting services for the Pittsburgh maglev (magnetic levitation) public transportation system. General Electric will supply the propulsion engines and Eaton Corporation the hydraulics. BAE Systems Controls of the USA will develop the airship’s avionics and flight control systems. A small scale (1:8) experimental airship known as ‘Joey’ was already built and had its maiden flight in October 1999.Ĭontraves Space AG of Switzerland is to develop the fibre-composite nose cone. The development took place at the dock in Briesen-Brand near Berlin, where the production hangar (360m long, 210m wide and 107m high) is the world’s largest free-standing hangar. The CL 160 could also be used in transporting humanitarian and emergency aid – one CL 160 could transport food for 25,750 people for 14 days in a relief programme. Described as a ‘flying crane’, the CL 160 will be able to carry payloads weighing up to 160 metric tons, with a volume of up to 3,200 cubic metres, to a range of up to 10,000 km, without the need for airfields or extensive road systems. Heavy loads, for example, large turbine casings, can be carried directly from the factory to their intended operation location, without the airship touching the ground and almost independently of local infrastructure. In August 2002, work on Cargolifter’s other major programme, the CL 75 lifting balloon was also halted. In June 2002, the company made an application for insolvency. In May 2002, the CL 160 development was halted due to financial problems and the status of the programme is uncertain. The CargoLifter CL 160 is a semi-rigid airship under development by CargoLifter AG, a German company that plans to build airships capable of carrying enormous loads for the bulk air freight market. The vast scale of CargoLifter's hangar base is shown here relative to the Statue of Liberty. The CargoLifter CL 160 derives its name from its designed payload capacity of 160t.ĬargoLifter AG have constructed a headquarters hangar capable of housing their CL 160 fleet at a site located on the former military airfield of Brand, 60km south of Berlin. Legend of Grimrock 1 ![]() The recent pandemic brought into focus the merits and challenges of working from home on a level of personal experience. Whether working from home is the key or impediment to academics’ efficiency and work-life balance became a daunting question for both scientists and their employers. The flexibility allowed by the mobilization of technology disintegrated the traditional work-life boundary for most professionals. Unique economic vulnerabilities faced by low-income healthcare workers may need to be addressed to avoid serious disruptions from future events similar to COVID-19. Lower paid workers such as technologists/technicians (10.5%) and healthcare aides (12.6%) were hit hardest and faced persistently high unemployment, while nurses (4%), physicians/surgeons (1.4%), and pharmacists (0.7%) were spared major disruptions. We found that unemployment rates increased dramatically for all healthcare industries, with the strongest early impacts on dentists’ offices (41.3%), outpatient centers (10.5%), physician offices (9.5%), and home health (7.8%). Descriptive analyses with monthly cross-sectional data on unemployment rates, employment, labor market entry/exit, and weekly work hours among healthcare workers in each healthcare industry and occupation, using the Current Population Survey from July 2019−2020 were performed. We assess early COVID-19 effects on the dynamics of decline and recovery in healthcare labor markets in the United States. The resilience of the healthcare industry, often considered recession-proof, is being tested by the COVID-19 induced reductions in physical mobility and restrictions on elective and non-emergent medical procedures. Working from home may contribute to higher levels of perceived stress and work-related burnout, which questions moves by some employers to make working from home a permanent arrangement. The most significant challenges reported were-communication, collaboration, and time management with colleagues via technology. Burnout was most significant for respondents already working remotely before COVID-19. Pandemic restrictions increased perceived stress for all participants, but age and gender had significant effects on stress and burnout. This sample consisted of 256 professionals who self-identified as working at home during the pandemic. The authors developed a questionnaire, open from March 23rd to May 19th, 2020, incorporating the Perceived Stress Scale, Copenhagen Burnout Inventory, demographic, and work-related questions. ![]() The purpose of the study was to understand the impact of involuntary remote working during the early phases of the COVID-19 pandemic on perceived stress and work-related burnout for workers with and without previous experience of remote work. Increased remote work appears to be inversely related to the incidence of burnout among medical dosimetrists. The results of this study indicated that increased staffing shortages have a direct relationship with increased burnout incidence. A total of 160 responses were recorded, resulting in a response rate of 6% (160/2591). It was distributed electronically to 2591 certified medical dosimetrists in the United States through the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD) membership database. The survey was intended to assess levels of emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP) and personal accomplishment (PA). ![]() The researchers utilized a survey to answer research questions regarding whether staffing shortages or remote planning influenced perceived occupational burnout among medical dosimetrists in a post COVID-19 pandemic environment. Medical dosimetrists could be experiencing increased burnout in the workplace postpandemic due to staffing shortages and increased remote planning, which may reduce work performance. Previous studies have shown that occupational burnout exists amongst medical dosimetrists, however, the incidence of medical dosimetrist burnout before and after a pandemic warrant continued research. ![]() According to the World Health Organization, burnout is described as having a negative attitude regarding one's work and being exhausted. ![]() ![]() Open the Google Authenticator on your smartphone As I mentioned, we’re going to set up the account called olivia. Remember, however, this added step brings with it an extra layer of security you wouldn’t have otherwise. This also adds another step for you, so if having to pull out your smartphone every time you need to log into your Linux machine (or use sudo ), this might not be for you. There is one very important caveat to this: Once you’ve set this up, you will not be able to log into the account (or issue sudo commands) without a six-digit code from the authenticator. To handle the two-factor side of things, I will be making use of the Google Authenticator. I will demonstrate this on a Ubuntu 16.04 desktop, but the process works for the server as well. I am going to walk you through the process of setting up two-factor authentication for use on login and sudo. On top of that, it’s incredibly easy to set up. But, what if I told you could take the login to your Linux servers and desktops one step-nay, two steps-further? Thanks to the Google Authenticator, you can. To that end, administrators and users will create incredibly complex passwords, employ password managers, and more. Because of this, you must do everything you can to ensure what you hold on your desktops and servers is safe. We live in a world where data is an incredibly valuable currency, and you’re always at risk of loss. Incidents and retirements for other cars will be more visible in the past, and will include troubled cars limping back to the pits to give players a better idea of what has caused a safety car period. ![]() In the case of VSC, a live delta update lets you know if you are going too fast or too slow. The virtual safety car rule has also been included, and the player’s car during these phases of the race is under full manual control. Several noticeable features have been added that affect the way a race pans out, with the most popular request being to include the safety car. You also have a better chance of earning a drive with a team based on any affiliation your current employer may have with someone else on the grid, such as an engine supply deal. On the subject of tires, the new-for-2016 system of choosing an allocation of compounds before an event does feature in the game.Īs well as looking to move a team up the grid, or earn a contract with front-runner (although you can start with any team you like), another new element to career mode is the ability to lose your drive if you underperform, with your agent then forced to find you a seat lower down the grid. In another attempt to increase the realism, your engineer can suggest switching your strategy mid-race depending on how your grand prix is panning out. The tire life test also helps the game customise a much more detailed set of strategy options for the player, mapped out through graphs representing how the various tire choices are likely to perform in a race. You can start off with track familiarization before moving onto the realistic jobs of qualifying simulation work and long runs to judge tire life. The player has control of which areas of the car to focus on, meaning it is possible to sign for McLaren and focus on engine updates to move the team up the grid.Įxtra development points can be earned through completing tasks in free practice, giving those sessions a relevance they have never had in a game before. If you drag a small team toward the front of the field, don’t be surprised if one of the big-hitters unleashes a major upgrade package to move back ahead. While the player has to earn development points through race weekend performances, the computer-controlled (AI) teams also develop independently, and at different rates of progress. The most striking feature of the new career mode is a development race between the teams that spans all 10 seasons, meaning the competitive order is guaranteed to change over the course of a player’s career.
